‘ Ghost boat ‘ washes up on Japanese island with human remains

In a shipwreck on Japan’s coast, five bodies and two human heads were found.  On Friday, the boat washed ashore on Sado Island during Japan, northwest of the mainland, and on Saturday, authorities gained access.  The heavily damaged vessel had painted on its side Korean lettering. Police could not confirm that the two heads belonged to the bodies, but Japanese media claimed that the bones were “partially skeletonized.”  This could mean that for a long time the victims had been at sea. They are usually empty or contain only remains of human beings.…

The impeachment of President Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has been sued and is now facing the next step of a process that could see him removed from office with ample support in Congress.  It all depends on whether or not he was unsuccessfully seeking help from Ukraine to improve his re-election chances in 2020. Following two votes in the Democratic Party-controlled House of Representatives, Mr. Trump became only the third president in U.S. history to be impeached-but more about what that means below.  The Democrat, President Trump, firmly denies any wrongdoing. What wrongdoing is he accused of? President Trump is accused of forcing Ukraine to dig up derogatory details about Joe Biden and his son Hunter, one of his leading Democratic presidential challenges in 2020. The president is accused of haggling two issues as bargaining chips for Ukraine-withholding $400 m of already-allocated military aid to Ukraine from Congress and organizing a White House briefing for the president of Ukraine. That, Democrats say, is a misuse of presidential power,…

What could be the ‘ Christmas gift ‘ for the US from North Korea?

We have returned to familiar territory. North Korea is again issuing cryptic threats to be deciphered by officials around the world. In the past 12 months, the Kim Jong Un regime has mooted a so-called “Christmas gift” for the United States, a year-end deadline and a new path. Hoping to reach an agreement that would see North Korea trade its nuclear weapons and the missiles used to launch them in return for sanctions relief and improved ties, Kim and Trump have met three times. It remains uncertain whether this is actually achievable. Even the most powerful and knowledgeable minds researching North Korea have educated guesses expressing their expectations as to what will happen next. But some agreement appears to be emerging — that what North Korea perceives as a lack of flexibility and imagination on the part of US negotiators is irritated. And perhaps more worryingly, it will be designed to capture US President Donald Trump’s attention whatever it does next. Satellite launch Most experts who have spoken to CNN believe the most likely next step for North Korea will be an attempt to use a rocket to launch a satellite into orbit. On Saturday, North Korean state media reported…
